TÁNGUELA | Myriam González
CONTEMPORARY DANCE
TÁNGUELA is a dance piece that explores beauty within brokenness. A body that, when deformed, does not fit into established patterns and becomes the territory of an intimate struggle: controlling the uncontrollable, ordering what escapes, seeking beauty in an anatomy that deviates from the standard in a desperate attempt to find its place. The piece explores the tension between lack of control and the need for order. A space for taming
one's own body. Does it really belong here? To this body? To this standard?
TÁNGUELA asks an essential question: how to find beauty and identity in a body that insists on breaking away from norms, from the normative, from the expected. A body that, although broken and alienated, continues to search for a place to fit in.
